I promise to keep this short, as this day is about spending time with family. I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving. I hope this finds you enjoying the holiday with family and friends. Take this opportunity to reflect on what is really important to you, and to cherish those around you because we never know how long they are going to be with us.
Every year I think to myself, why is it that it takes a holiday for me to remember what I am thankful for. Why is it that I don't take an opportunity everyday to remember and reflect on how blessed I am. I know that I should be telling those that I love and care about daily how I feel, not just one day a year. I know that I am very lucky. I have a family that loves me and that I love, no matter what. I have friends that care about me and that would drop everything to help me if I needed it. I have a good job in an economy that is seeing more and more people lose theirs. I am raising 4 beautiful cherubs who make me proud daily. Everyone is healthy and happy. I am so grateful that I have found a new gym built from my old community, and filled both with old friends, and new ones. I truly have a lot to be thankful for.
This year I am going to do my best to remind myself and those around me, daily, what I am thankful for. I am going to remember to tell those that matter to me how much I care, and how grateful I am to have them in my life. When life gets hard or stressful, I will remind myself that things could be worse; and that I am very fortunate to have a loving family, great friends, a roof over my head, and a good job. I will take the stress out in the gym, so that I don't take it out on those that I love. I am going to take better care of myself, physically and emotionally, so that I can continue to be here for those that need me. At least, I am going to do my level best to do all of this.
So, on that note, I will once again wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving and ask, what are you thankful for?
