Yes - you read that headline correctly! And no my site did not get hacked again. I am actually doing a giveaway for a Date with Ryan! Stick with me ladies, I promise this will make sense once you read this whole post. This started as a simple idea this week. I have been wanting to work with more brands to do giveaways on my blog so I sent out at tweet reaching out to brands.

The tweet went like this: Looking for more products to review on my website, any brands interested in reaching a female market, please contact me!

Well then my smartass friend Ryan piped up: me! me! me! I'd like to brand myself and reach the female market!

You gotta admit that was pretty funny. We got in a whole Twitter conversation about this and had other followers jump in too. It actually turned out to be pretty cool and where the idea for this giveaway came from!!

Note: To see the whole Twitter conversation, please visit the Calling All The Single Ladies! Enter to win the Date With Ryan Giveaway! article on The Jenny Pincher.

We had a great 15 minute exchange about this and I promised you, it's worth reading the whole conversation as mentioned above!! We were all dying at how this random one off tweet I sent became the idea for this blog post and giveaway! See ladies, you never know where something will end up when you are willing to take a chance!!

What This Giveaway Is

Ok ladies, here's the deal. We all know dating sucks. And it only gets worse as you get older (trust me, I'm 34 I know). Sometimes I think we all tend to take ourselves waaaaay too seriously when it comes to dating. I mean seriously. We put up with so much during the dating process (will he call? when will he call? what does it mean if he doesn't call the next day? etc) and on and on and on. We torture ourselves with things we have no business torturing ourselves with!

This is Ryan's most recent photo

So let's lighten things up a little bit and have some fun with it, shall we? This giveaway is meant to be a fun way for one of you to meet Ryan for a date. That is it, nothing more. I don't want you to be stuffy or uptight about this. I want you to be able to laugh at things that we go through in life, agree that dating sucks and be open to trying something different to meet a guy. I think this would also make a really good story to tell people how you met!

The Rules

The rules for this giveaway are pretty simple and it's all about common sense. I know all of you reading this blog have plenty of common sense but I felt I needed to clarify a few things for how I want this to work.

  • You must be a woman to enter this contest.
  • You must be between the ages of 21-35
  • You must represent yourself fairly and accurately. Seriously ladies, we know how frustrating it is when guys misrepresent themselves to us so please don't do it to Ryan.
  • You must be open to meeting Ryan in San Francisco (if the logistics work out) or meeting him for a Skype date. It is up to Ryan and the winner to determine this. If you are all gutsy online but then you will chicken out when it comes to meeting Ryan in person or on Skype, please do not waste Ryan's time or my time and enter this giveaway.  There is nothing weird about either of these two ways to meet. Its just two adults getting together to see if they connect. If you are not open to this, don't enter.
  • I'm using a plugin called Rafflecopter to run this giveaway. Yes ladies, Rafflecopter will be determining the fate of Ryan's date! But to enter, you have to answer 3 questions that Ryan wants to know about his potential date. They are easy questions I promise. But put a little effort into it! Let Ryan and the rest of us reading get to know you. It will be fun. I promise.

That's really it ladies!

Ok now I know you are all dying to meet Ryan and find out a little more about him. But before I tell you that, I do want to say that as I mentioned above, I know Ryan personally and he is a great guy. He is a lot of fun to hang out with, up for having a lot of fun and great to work with. I don't want any of you to think I'd be trying to set you up with some psycho so there is my disclaimer. I do know Ryan. I have met him in person and this pictures and this story accurately represent him.

Meet Ryan (in his own words)

Well lets see here, my name is Ryan Paredez, I am a 27 year old Leo (not sure if you follow that, I don’t, but just thought I’d throw it out there) and I currently live in San Francisco, Ca. I am studying International Business at San Francisco State University where I am expecting to graduate in the fall of 2013. I currently work for an awesome personal finance tech startup called Planwise. If you would have asked me a few years ago where I expected to be working when I was 27, working for a pf tech company would not have been anywhere on my list. I've been with this company for just over a year now and don't have any immediate plans to leave. Do I plan on staying here forever? I don't think so. I really have a strong passion for the Android operating system and I would love to be apart of their business team. If that doesn't work out or I have enough time, I would love to open up my own hockey bar here in San Francisco.

The Pops and I at his wedding in August

To dig a bit deeper about me, I really value my family and love them, but I don't see them very often because they live in Southern California and we don't talk a whole lot. My new extended family has become my close group of friends who I've bonded with since moving to San Francisco just over 3 years ago. I would do and give anything for my friends. They can vouch for me =D I would also like to say I am quite a sarcastic individual; sometimes people can't handle it. I also consider myself to be overall pretty relaxed, but this doesn't mean I don't like to get wild every now and then. During the week if I'm not too busy with school work or watching some hockey (if there wasn't a lockout), I don't mind enjoying a drink at a dive bar after a long day of work and/or school. On the weekends, you will normally find me out with my friends in the park hanging out, enjoying the sun, kicking around the soccer ball, tossing a frisbee or playing some roller hockey (yes, hockey is my favorite sport). Once the sun goes down you will either find me out bar hopping or perhaps at one of my favorite clubs where I like to let lose and hear some good house music or EMD. I also like to have chill nights at home watching a movie or just a low key night with the friends.

Some of my main interests:

Japanese art

Technology Pizza

My main dislikes:

Ranch dressing

Sour cream

Most Shellfish -  I do like shrimp though.   A photo from my most recent Birthday

What Ryan Wants in a Woman (in his own words)

Intelligence and a spectacular sense of humor. If you can't hold a conversation or relate to my sense of humor, then it's not looking too good. I'm about 5'9" and seem to be drawn to petite women. I've never dated a woman that was taller then me, so I'm not really sure how I feel about that, but I guess I could always give it a try. I think anything over a few inches taller than me would probably be weird for me though. While I do have quite a few tattoos, this is not something I look for in a woman. I have actually never dated a girl with tattoos. I personally don't smoke cigarettes and I would prefer to date someone who doesn't, but  it's not going to be a deal breaker. I do like a woman who has a dope style though. I myself dress pretty casual on a regular basis but I clean up quite nicely and I would hope you could too. I really love when women wear black too, there is just something about it that really catches my attention. A little bit more about your style ladies, I don't expect you to be in a dress and heels everyday because I think a casual look can be sexy too, but I definitely don't mind when a woman puts on a sexy dress and a killer pair of heels.

My Shinyu

Thank You Ryan

What else do you want to know about Ryan? As I mentioned earlier, you will need to answer Ryan's 3 questions in the comments below to be entered in this giveaway. But afterwards, feel free to post your questions back to Ryan!! You can also tweet your questions to Ryan and use the hashtag #datewithryan.

I want to say a huge THANK YOU to Ryan for putting himself out there like this. This isn't easy ladies. We all know haters gonna hate but Ryan has been a good sport to do this and I admire his bravery and willingness to have fun with this! I hope everyone reading this gets that that is what we are trying to do here. Ok ladies, now it's your turn. Take a chance and do something different. I promise you it won't hurt and you never know where you might end up!
