I don't have ADD, but my husband does. He's nowhere near hyperactive, but he does have impulsive spending habits, disorganization and a tendency to lose things. (He once lost his wallet between the car and our house. Another time he lost an envelope of cash - $3,000 – twice in one day.)
And while I am certainly not perfect when it comes to spending or finances, we can both agree that it's a good thing I handle all the bills. A VERY good thing.

1. "And because these financial pitfalls are directly related to your ADD symptoms, they can seem impossible to overcome." I actually think I worry about this more than my husband does; that he'll never slow down his impulsive spending or worse – that it will get worse!
2. Reduce your paperwork and reduce your stress. I agree with this and try to pay everything online whenever possible. I have filing cabinets with labeled folders for everything. My husband? Has boxes of papers around the house. Piles of mail (I pull out the bills and important stuff) go without being opened. I definitely think disorganization and "hoading" is a symptom of ADD/ADHD.
3. I saw major similarities in the Brooks Brothers example. My husband will buy things because they're a bargain - even if we don't need them. I think part of it is that he gets a rush from making a purchase. That goes along with impulsivity.
