Ahh... peanut butter! I've had a love for it ever since I can remember. Peanut butter toast is always my go to breakfast not only because it's tasty, but because it's so filling! I used to eat Jiffy peanut butter until I started eating clean and found out what is in it. Did you know that most processed peanut butters have a bunch of additives and unhealthy ingredients? Almost all peanut butters have palm oil in them which is really not healthy. That is why for the last year or so I try to buy only organic peanut butter where the ingredient list says peanuts only. Or if I'm feeling ambitious I make my own! I even add a little bit of cocoa and agave to make a sweet chocolaty peanut butter.
1. Fill blender or food processor half full with peanuts.
2. Add as much or little cocoa powder as you'd like. (If you want this recipe to be CLEAN make sure the ingredient list says only cocoa)
3. Add a few tablespoons of agave or maple syrup.
4. Blend! If you have a Vitamix it should only take a few minutes. With a food processor it will take 10 minutes plus. It may not seem like it will work but be patient, it will eventually turn into smooth, creamy peanut butter.
This peanut butter is great on toast, with fruit or your favorite dessert. Or my personal favorite is to eat it right out of the jar with a spoon! Hope you enjoy this delicious chocolaty peanut spread :)
