Drinks for Him and Her

My new husband loves cognac.  On a chilly night, he enjoys heating a snifter of it in his brandy warmer.  The idea of a drink that is both warm and warming sounds wonderful.  However, I have found the taste of straight cognac (even top shelf) to be too strong.

In an effort to create a drink that is a blend of my husband's and my preferences, my dear made a drink called a French Connection.  Made with amaretto and cognac, his version took some of the edge off of the cognac for me, but it still wasn't quite to my liking.

This week I decided to do some experimenting.  I played with the amount of each ingredient until I crafted my own version of the French Connection.  Using the same ingredients I found a cognac-based drink that I thought was quite tasty.

Whether you like a stronger or milder taste of cognac, one of these recipes will work for you.
