Kim throws a “nose unveiling” party and invites her friends and family over to her new home. But it’s more than just showing off her new nose – she finally feels at home in a place and she would like to share that, along with thanking everyone for being supportive of her sobriety. Kyle and Faye arrive with Portia and Taylor’s daughter, Kennedy (Taylor is supposed to meet them there later). Portia and Kennedy often play together and the girls are both dressed up and look really cute. Marisa arrives and Kyle makes her spit out her gum (what?). Kyle and Kim step away to take a call from Taylor who, quite frankly, sounds hammered. She calls to say that she’s “become close to someone” and he’s just invited her to go on a plane tonight. She thinks she’s fallen in love in the last 48 hours. Kyle and Kim looked shocked while they listen to Taylor rattle on about going to Beaver Creek, she will call them from there, she’s really happy and he loves Kennedy. Kyle tells her that she has Kennedy with her and asks if she can keep her. Taylor seems surprised that Kennedy is with Kyle, and flat-out says that she didn’t know Kyle had her. I’m sorry, what?? How do you not know where your child is? Taylor tells Kyle that she will be back in time for the White Party and she will get Kennedy then. End of call. Kim and Kyle are concerned, and Kim points out that Taylor could barely talk at some points of that conversation. They agree that Taylor sounded “beyond tipsy”. Adrienne arrives and they tell her about the conversation with Taylor. Marisa has joined the conversation and now it’s the four of them talking about it. Kyle hasn’t seen Taylor even go on a date, and now she’s in love? Apparently, Kennedy stays with Kyle a lot – which Marisa finds bizarre. Marisa comments that while it’s a horrible thing to say, she’s going to say it anyway. Kennedy is always with Kyle so Taylor can go do whatever she wants. She acknowledged that she doesn’t know Taylor that well but it does seem like Kyle always has Kennedy. There’s nothing reciprocal, and her opinion is that Taylor is using Kyle. Kim’s bigger concern was that Taylor didn’t know where Kennedy was in the first place.
Kim still feels that she made the right decision to not have Paul do her nose – she didn’t want to mix business and friendship. Marisa and Adrienne have a conversation about a bump on her nose and Adrienne recommends that she go in to the office for a consultation. Kim’s plastic surgeon (Dr. Grigoryants) and his wife arrive at the party so he can take the bandage off for the “big reveal”. She says it’s not just about her nose but about feeling like she is at home. She’s really glad to have everyone in her special place. The family wasn’t supposed to talk about her issues – so it’s a huge step for everyone to have it out in the open. They go inside and take the bandages off and everyone is standing outside waiting for her. When she finally comes out, everyone loves it – despite not seeing that much of a difference in the before and after pictures. Marisa didn’t think she had a bad nose to begin with, but more power to her if it makes her happy. Adrienne kept making comments about Paul could have done better – to everyone within ear shot. Kim seemed thrilled with her nose and the party.
Adrienne and Paul are home in the backyard with their kids (and maybe her nephews?) swimming when they start to smell smoke and see helicopters flying overhead. After doing some investigating, they realize that Lisa’s old house across the street – the former Vanderpump Manor – is up in flames! And we are talking a little fire either, we are talking hundred of fireman trying to put this thing out. Naturally, Adrienne starts to panic being so close to something like that with the children and decides that she wants to evacuate. Paul feels it’s totally unnecessary and isn’t helpful. Adrienne is insistent and packs all the kids in the car and leaves to make sure they are all safe. Paul stands at the top of their driveway and takes pictures while Adrienne drives away – and she’s pissed.
I’m assuming it’s the next day or a few days later that we see Kyle running around her back yard with the party planner – getting everything finished for their annual White Party. As usual, she doesn’t like anything she has ordered, including a gigantic inflatable octopus looking thing that is scrapped immediately. At last, Kyle and Faye are upstairs getting ready and Mauricio is hanging out with Portia. (No sign of Kennedy – so we are left to wonder if Taylor picked her up or not.) Kyle and Faye discussed the tea and how uncomfortable it was. Kyle would like to have a nice White Party like they used to – before the disaster of last year. She almost didn’t have it this year, but decided that she wasn’t going to stop just because of Brandi and Adrienne’s fight. (To catch readers up that may not have seen last years White Party disaster, here’s a brief summary: A week or so before the White Party, Lisa had the ladies over for tea where the topic of Taylor and Russell’s marriage came up and Camille said, out loud, that Russell abused her. Russell didn’t take to kindly to this and sent Camille an email, telling her that she needed to retract those statements or he would sue her. Because of this letter, and that Taylor had told all of the ladies at one point in time that Russell was abusive to her, it was decided that none of them wanted to risk being around the Armstrong’s last year for fear of a being sued. They were asked not to come in to the White Party when they arrived, and Taylor and Russell turned around and went home. It was a BIG deal.)
Last season, in Kyle’s front yard, Taylor finds out that she and her husband can’t come in. Photo Credit: BravoTV
Lisa and Ken arrive early and chatted with Marisa about the fire. Lisa commented that she received a call that her house was on fire and she panicked. She thought they were talking about her current house, not her old one. The former house (that Pandora got married in at the end of last season) was completely destroyed in the fire. Brandi, Jennifer and another friend arrive. Brandi is an anxious mess, but she seems to be doing ok.
In the limo on the way to the party, Paul and Adrienne talk about Brandi. She wants to have a nice time but she could care less about her. Paul hasn’t seen her since the whole incident at Mauricio’s event. She and Paul discuss if they’ve spoken to their attorney. Adrienne said that she did but only said that she “hasn’t seen” any letter. Not that they didn’t send one. They finally arrive and everyone is already there. Kyle is hoping that the party is big enough that people who don’t want to see each other can just avoid each other and move on. Mauricio and Adrienne do tequilla shots before they go out to the backyard and in to the full party. Lisa joins them and says hello, while they air kiss without touching. Adrienne made a comment about body makeup, and Lisa remarks that it’s all over her white chairs. (Apparently 18 months ago, Adrienne was at Lisa’s and got self-tanner or body makeup all over one of Lisa’s white couches and it had to be re-upholstered. This time, the chair that Adrienne was sitting on for the tea party is stained beyond cleaning for the same reason – and one that she was leaning against too!).
Kim arrives with her friend Leanne, and Taylor arrives alone. Kim asked her what happened the other night. Taylor said that she rekindled with an old friend that wanted her to come with him, so she went. It was great. It was nice to hold hands with a guy and have him hold hands and order her dinner, etc. She doesn’t know when she’s going to see him again. Kim told her that she was worried about her, but she’s glad that she had a good time. There are warning bells going off in Kim’s head – and she’s not the only one.
As usual the food looks amazing. Kyle and Mauricio are floating in a big love seat in the pool. Adrienne kept talking about the fire and how she took the kids and left. Brandi and Kim say hello briefly. Once she spots Paul, her anxiety kicks up. Brandi and Lisa excuse themselves to talk, and Brandi confides in Lisa that she’s having a hard time being around Paul because she’s scared of him. She tells Lisa that she’d like to have a conversation with Adrienne, but she’s like to do it without Paul. Lisa thinks it’s a good idea. Everyone is dancing and having a good time, and Brandi and Jennifer head in the house to take a break. Brandi is almost having an anxiety attack. So she asks one of her friends to grab Adrienne quick. (Gotta love Lisa’s interview comment about in a battle of wits between Adrienne and Brandi, Adrienne is unarmed). Her friend approaches Adrienne (who unfortunately is standing next to Paul) and asked her to talk. Paul decided that he was not going to allow that, and he goes with her inside the house. Paul and Adrienne sit down with Jennifer and Brandi. Brandi doesn’t want to have issues with them and doesn’t want to ruin the party. Adrienne starts by saying that a letter is different from a lawsuit. Brandi retorts that she had to hire an attorney to handle it, and Adrienne says that she had to hire an attorney too because she was hearing things that Brandi was saying. Adrienne said she didn’t want to hire an attorney (then why did she)? She tells Brandi that this had nothing to do with Brandi, per se, it’s about twitter, other social media, blah blah blah. It starts to get to a talking-over-each-other-nobody-is-listening and then Bernie’s name comes up again. Brandi pulls out a HUGE stack of papers and hands them to Paul – showing him that RadarOnline confirmed that Bernie was selling stories about her to them.
Meanwhile, outside at the party Kyle and Lisa are chatting about last year and how hypocritical the entire situation is. Last year, Adrienne and Paul were backing Camille’s not wanting to be around Taylor and Russell because they had sent her a letter regarding their intent to sue. Which is the whole reason that Taylor and Russell were asked to not come in to the party last year. This year, Adrienne and Paul have done the exact same thing to Brandi and they are jumping up and down saying that she’s lying about a lawsuit and it’s not the same thing when it’s the EXACT same thing. At least Camille had money to fight, where Brandi doesn’t. Lisa jokingly tells Kyle that she needs to go throw Adrienne and Paul out like she did Taylor and Russell.
Back inside, Adrienne keeps insisting that there’s no lawsuit. But Brandi has a letter that says that if she fails to show up for a meeting, they will sue her. Adrienne, in her interview, says “I have not taken legal action against her”. Apparently, in Adrienne’s world (this year) that means actually FILING something in court. According to Paul, “Was she warned? Yes.” It clear that Paul and Adrienne are twisting the truth to suit their purpose this year, as opposed to the situation last year. Paul and Adrienne keep telling Brandi that she needs to watch what she says. Brandi remarks that it’s the USA – welcome to free speech. She’s only spoken the truth, so that’s not slander. Clearly, they are insistent on controlling whatever comes out of Brandi’s mouth and because she’s not a financial equal, she’s stuck.
Lisa and Ken, Kyle, Kim and Faye walk in to the living room where Brandi, Jennifer, Adrienne and Paul are talking and jump in to the conversation. Paul and Ken start to go at it a little about the things that happened last year and that he and Lisa didn’t sue them for the things that Adrienne and Bernie said about her. Ken told Paul to finish with his “bullsh*t” with Brandi and then they’d talk. Taylor wants them to acknowledge that there is a similarity between what they did and what Russell chose to do last year. Adrienne and Paul led the charge last year about how “friends don’t sue friends”. Paul and Adrienne refuse to recognize the similarities. Dwight, one of Taylor’s friends, reminds them that last year there was only an email and they asked that Taylor be “kicked out” of the party. Paul doesn’t want to hear it, but it’s true. Kyle doesn’t want anyone feeling attacked in her home. Ken tells Paul that he should pay for Brandi’s legal fees and everything will be fine. Paul tells him that he should pay for it – since she is his “girlfriend”. Again – he’s focused on the fact that there’s no actual lawsuit. Brandi realizes that they will never acknowledge that they started the situation with the lawyers, and she’s glad she spoke her peace. So she get’s up, grabs her “boyfriend” and Lisa and heads back outside.
Kim and Kyle are hanging out at Kyle’s and the subject of Taylor and her recent behavior comes up. Kim was shocked by the call at her “nose unveiling” party, and feels that Taylor has a drinking problem. She believes that she’s using alcohol to escape from her feelings. Kim can’t sit by and watch it happen to someone who she cares about. Kyle is in a different position – she’s scared and very gun shy given what she has gone through over the years with Kim and this topic. Kim understands – but as much as they don’t want to say something – and how angry, pissed, crying, etc. that Taylor is going to be, they owe it to her to speak up. Kim decides that today is the day, and invites Kyle to come with her if she’d like. Kyle agrees, and they call Taylor right away to see if they can swing by. Taylor is home, Kennedy is at school, so they are on their way over.
Once they arrive, Kim doesn’t waste any time getting right to the point. She tells Taylor that it’s not just about the other night – she recognizes when she sees someone who she feels has a drinking problem. Taylor looks a little surprised. During her interview – Taylor says that she doesn’t drink often but when she does drink she finds that she can forget for a little while the stress and the pain that she’s in. Kim acknowledges that it wasn’t like Kennedy wasn’t being cared for. However, Taylor didn’t know where her child was and when it gets to that point, she might want to take a step back and look at the big picture. Taylor is a little taken back – not knowing where Kennedy was was a miscommunication between the nanny, her mom and her. Kim feels that these should be wake up calls for her, and every body knew what happened. Taylor admits that it’s been a hell of a year for her with Russell’s death and the lawsuits and everything. She has no idea how she will someday explain it all to Kennedy. Taylor tells the girls that if two drinks can help her forget, then four will help her feel better for a little while. Once she wakes up, she’s in a horribly dark place. Kim hugs her and tells her that she knows how she feels. Alcohol seems so easy and it makes things so much better in the moment, but it started to effect Kim in a way that was embarrassing herself and her kids. She sees that in Taylor. Kyle asks her if she could not use it as a crutch on her own, and Taylor says that she can. In her interview, Taylor says that she is an only parent now and she has to get it together because Kennedy needs her and she has to make a future for them. Kyle was sweating bullets and she’s glad that Taylor reacted the way that she did. Taylor doesn’t have sisters to tell her to get her Sh*t together, so she is thankful for Kim and Kyle.
Lisa calls Ken inside from feeding the swans on their property to help her pack for St. Tropez. (Seriously? Vander-fabulous indeed!) They are headed to St. Tropez to visit with Ken’s son Warren and his wife Sue. Warren is a product of Ken’s first married – a union that was very brief and ended with Ken having full custody of Warren from the age of two onward. When he got older, Warren met one of Lisa’s friends – Sue – they eventually married and have been together ever since. It was a rocky start because she and Lisa were friends and Lisa wasn’t thrilled about the situation – and him being her step-son and all. They will be staying with them, and bringing Giggy alone. Lisa is pulling things out of the closet (aka the small apartment where she stores her clothes) and Ken agrees with everything she wants to bring.
Yolanda has finished helping Mohammed decorate the new “house” he built and she’s invited the ladies over for a house-warming party. She loves Mohammed – he is an incredible human being, but faithfulness is not his strong suit and it’s difficult for a proper Dutch girl who believes in being faithful. Lisa and Ken are the first to arrive, and as they walk through the house it’s shocking to imagine that people actually live like this! Lisa loves that Yolanda and Mohammed are so civilized – it’s rare. Lisa tells Yolanda that they are headed to St. Tropez, and Yolanda is headed to Paris. Lisa will head to Paris at the end of their trip – why don’t they hook up? David is next to arrive, followed by Brandi and Jennifer – who haven’t met David yet. Yolanda lets Brandi know that Adrienne cancelled this morning – and Brandi is thrilled! Yolanda invited Brandi to accompany her to Paris, which she thinks is a fantastic idea (especially since she used to live there.) Dean and Marisa are in attendance as well, and Dean’s parents are old friends of David’s. Once David finds out that Marisa and Dean have been together for 16 years, he jokes that it times for a change! Ha! In speaking with Mauricio and Kyle, Yolanda finds out that they are also headed to Paris at the same time and she now decides to turn it in to a group trip. The Zanuck’s are in, and so is Kim. Taylor, however, decides that she needs to stay home and focus on herself and Kennedy so she won’t be joining them.
Yolanda approaches Taylor and they start chatting. Yolanda very bluntly asks her if she has an issue with her – because she’s hearing chatter from the ladies that she does. Taylor plays dumb and says nothing. She very sweetly tells Taylor that if she has an issue to give her a call, they can grab a coffee and talk it out. In her interview, Taylor says that her issues aren’t really with Yolanda but with David because of her relationship with his ex-wife Linda. This evening didn’t feel like the right time for her to say anything. Yolanda and Kyle chat after and Kyle tells her that maybe Linda has a bone to pick. Oh Kyle – why does it always seem like you are sitting up trouble??? Yolanda said that Linda told her that she was still in love with David and wishes they were still married. (I have a feeling this isn’t the last time we will hear about this topic.)
Ken and Lisa arrive at Warren’s home in St. Tropez with Giggy in tow. It’s a beautiful house, but it looks like they could be in Southern California as opposed to the South of France. It’s been several years since Lisa and Ken visited – they used to live in France but relocated to the States about 9 years ago. Warren is a self-made business man – he owns a lot of properties in the posh Notting Hill area of London. He and Sue have a son Ryan who’s 21 (Ken’s a Grandpa!) and since he is almost the same age as Max, the family gets along really well. They went to Villa Romana for an amazing dinner. (I wonder if this is a restaurant that they own?) Ken has often told Warren that they should come and live in Beverly Hills but their business is in London so there’s probably not much chance of that. There’s only 5 years between Lisa and Warren. Lisa made it her business to get on with Warren (not literally – she had friends for that). Once their visit was over with them (they spent three days) Warren decided to surprise them with a helicopter to Paris which takes 20 minutes as opposed to 4 hours in a car. Nice!
Meanwhile, the others all arrive at LAX for their flights and Kyle receives a disturbing call from Marisa. She and Dean were on their way to the airport when they received a call that Dean’s father, movie executive Richard Zanuck, had a small heart attack and passed away at his home. Obviously, she is very upset and all of the ladies express their condolences and wish her the best. Everyone agrees that it’s a good thing that it happened before they got on the flight as opposed to during or while they were in Paris so that they could be close to the family.
Once they arrive in Paris, they check in to the Hotel Lutetia and despite it being cold in paris, no one is complaining because the views from their balconies are spectacular. Mauricio and Kyle are thrilled to be in such a romantic place together, and Yolanda hates being there without David. Most of the ladies can see the Eiffel Tower from their balcony. That first night they all congregate on what appears to be Brandi’s balcony to watch the Bastille Day fireworks. Lisa and Ken arrive just before the show starts, and Kim is the last to arrive. She’s exhausted and her stomach is upset. She seems off and forcing happiness. Lisa asked her what time she got to Paris, and she seemed confused. Lisa is worried about her – she feels that she’s not lucid. She’s a different Kim that the last few months.
NEXT WEEK: Segway adventures, crazy cooking classes and an argument on top of the Eiffel Tower.
