Chace Crawford was born in Lubbock, Texas, in the summer of 1985 and soon after settled in Plano, Texas. He has a younger sister, Candice, who is the reigning Miss Missouri USA 2008. Growing up, Chace attended Christian school and participated in football and golf. He modeled occasionally in Dallas throughout high school, though he never pursued it seriously.
After graduating from high school in 2003, Chace Crawford moved to Malibu, California, to attend Pepperdine University. He dropped out of Pepperdine halfway through his second year when his mother encouraged him to pursue a career in acting. Chace began looking for a talent agent and was signed by the first agent who interviewed him.
Chace landed his first role in 2006, playing the son of Gabrielle Anwar's character in the Liftetime TV movie Long Lost Son. He followed up with a role in the horror/thriller film The Covenant. Chace Crawford got his big break in 2007, when he was cast as Nate Archibald in the CW hit series Gossip Girl.
Chace is currently splitting his time between Los Angeles and Manhattan, where Gossip Girl is filmed. He has gained the reputation of being a ladies' man, most recently linked to country superstar Carrie Underwood. The pair allegedly split via text (initiated by Crawford) after a short courtship in 2007. It doesn't appear that this young playboy will be settling down any time soon.
