The Pickle Sickle - That Cool Refreshing Treat!

The USDA has accepted these Pickle Pops as a healthy alternative to sugary popsicles for private and public school districts across the country. Basically, this is frozen pickle juice in a tube, sort of like a Pickle Flavored Otter Pop.
WTF?!!
It may be sugar free, but it contains like 300% of your daily recommended sodium intake! Are school kids more in danger of going into a diabetic coma than having high blood pressure?
I predict a lunchtime uprising in schools across America.

What do you think?
Does this sound like a scrummy, healthy treat or does it activate your gag reflex?

Hello Valley Girl, sorry to upset you but we only have 11% of the daily sodium intake. And today we just got word from Dr Carol Johnson “We did analyze the data today and the pickle sickle IS reducing meal-time glycemia as compared to placebo (a sugar-free popsickle).” The daily intake for sodium is 2300 milligrams. Thank you for at least talk about us.

On the contrary, I’m pleased to stand corrected. Only 11% really surprises me.
I still think it sounds gross though!I wish I had discovered this when I was pregnant - I would’ve eaten a half dozen in one sitting.
Thank you for your input.

YUM! I used to drink real pickle juice as a kid, so I think this is definitely a great idea to also substitute the frozen sugar craze for something else!
