Mosquito mania
Yesterday I spent the day in a park and the night at a friend’s barbecue. We had a blast - but I woke up today with six mosquito bites! Others had it way worse.
In this season of super duper humidity, it appears we are all meant to be the meat of the insect world. I actually do not have any bitterness about this - it would be hypocritical. I cry and moan when I find bugs in MY home…I cannot complain if i find them in a public park (arguably THEIR home). Still, I’d love to find a way to coexist peacefully. (i.e. I won’t kill them, they won’t eat me.)
So, anyone have any tried-and-true anti-bite tricks of the trade? (Or post-bite relief?) Please share with the class!
Note: This time, no bites were in unmentionable places. It seems I’m dressing more appropriately!

The most soothing and healing treatment I know is pure aloe, you can buy a leaf in the supermarket, cut off it’s outer skin, and squeeze out the pulp into a container you can seal. Put a generous amount on each bite, and if you don’t want it on your clothes, cover with a bandage. You can also cut open a vitamin E caplet if you have any and put that on the bites as well. Remember, do not scratch them as much as they itch, that will scar your skin.

i had the same problem this weekend. Totally got a bunch of bites on Saturday night — I had even covered myself with those repellant wipes all over my legs/ankle. But it didnt work. I have about 6 or 7 I am using Cortaid on to stop the itching.

Avon’s skin so soft is supposed to work well in preventing them I can’t say for sure since I’m lucky enough they don’t like to bite me. I think it has to do with all the medicines I’m on LOL my blood probably tastes nasty!
