Couture calls
For those of you who can’t get enough of your celeb-a-razzi, I shall share a little inside info tidbit:
Recently, at the Coachella Music Festival in Palm Springs, celebrities and musicians flocked to the BPM Magazine retreat (at an undisclosed location) to relax and of course get the latest – free – high-tech goodies. Stars such as Omarosa, Dave Annabel of “Brother & Sisters”, Taryn Manning and Joel Madden of Good Charlotte all picked up Bluetooth products and iPod docking stations from Plantronics and Altec Lansing. While Nicole Richie lounged outside by the pool, Joel picked up Swarovski crystal encrusted iPod earphones for Nicole, and Bluetooth Stereo headsets and iPod docking stations for himself. A big fan of Plantronics, Joel mentioned that Nicole would love the ear buds, and he would definitely make good use of the new iPhone docking station while on tour or just hanging out.
As much as we all claim to abhor celeb-obsession, many of us secretly envy their lifestyles. Sure, they have no privacy and have their day-old takeout cartons fished out of the garbage. But said garbage cans are often located in front of beautiful homes with even more beautiful gadgets (and, um, clothes) inside. And we won’t even get into how they vacation on the beaches of Italy while we spend our time off scoring free plastic cups of room-temperature wine by the nickel machine in Atlantic City.
Sigh.
But we can at least learn something from their good taste, and like the above-mentioned celeb-u-tants, we love the Plantronics Discovery 925 Bluetooth earpiece.
It has an elegantly simple VFrame™ design with crisp sound quality and lightweight, couture comfort. (Alas I am a couture girl through and through.) It’s brainlessly easy to set up, has AudioIQ® noise control technology and carrying case with rechargeable battery that lets you stay in touch and in style while you’re in motion.
We all have varying degrees of celebrity obsession - be it grudging or otherwise, whether it’s hanging out in bars stalking your favorite sports celeb (I once knew someone who did this!), or combing the pages of OK! on a regular basis. (No shame in that! I actually kind of work for them…so…keep at it…!).
So, tell me your celeb obsession - and where it’s taken you. Best two answers by May 22 will receive a Plantronics Discovery 925 of their very own!

Well, I haven’t really had many celeb-obsessions in my adult life, but let’s just say that somewhere, buried deep inside my mother’s house, there’s an autographed picture of The Smurfs…

I don’t have any celeb obsessions. To me, they are just people who have an interesting job, but just a job. I don’t run around getting excited about the person who works at the local grocery store and they have just a job. SO I don’t get excited of a celebs life either.
I think it’s just silly to be like that.

The Beatles-I am STILL waiting for a reunion (unlikely as that may be)

I have a sports celebrity obsession. A big one. It’s with players on the Florida Marlins which makes it tough since I live in NY. I’ve visited their team hotel in NYC just to see them in a casual environment a few times. I’ve gone to Florida for weeks every year so I could see them play. I try to see every game on TV as well. I am very obsessed with the Marlins and their players and have been for years.

I try not to read too much gossip but sometimes it’s just too hard to resist! As for where my celebrity obsession is taking me? I’m going to travel 750 miles this summer to get an autograph of my favourite author! I know that might not be as good as getting a big TV stars sig but it’s gonna make my vacation the best one yet!
