Seriously sexy sunshine

It appears I may have the “task” of going to South Beach in a few weeks on a media junket. (Cue those violins!)

As previously all I have known of this region of Florida is the diet that was borne out of people wanting to look like the glorious bodies that dwell there, I’m somewhat concerned with looking my sexiest when I do go.

A new bikini is on its way (more on that soon…it’s related to my upcoming polka-dot feature), body grooming is underway (see below), and now I must turn my attention to keeping my tender flesh as unabused by the sun as possible.

(A tall order when you are as fair as me.)

Truth be told, I have an entire case of lotions and sundries of various degrees of exclusivity to draw from, but the beauty editrix in me loves new stuff to try. And so, when I received an email from CVS/pharmacy (yes, CVS!) listing all the cool products they had to pamper our skin for summer, I couldn’t help but think this was some sort of quantum timing.

(And we know how strongly I feel about paying attention to those quantum messages…)

Whether you want a sunless summer glow, or to protect your skin while in the sun, these guys seem to have you covered - and at a price that leaves plenty of room for margaritas. (Which is how I’m planning to spend *all* of my South Beach jaunt.)

I can’t help but love brilliantly placed timing, and CVS/pharmacy seems to want to create even more love - they are going to share their beauty-pampering bounty with the lot of you, and are giving away two gift baskets, each including the following:

CVS/pharmacy Dry Oil Sunscreen Continuous Spray SPF 10

CVS/pharmacy Fast Cover Continuous Clear Spray Sunscreen SPF 50

CVS/pharmacy Fine Mist Sunless Tanning Spray

CVS/pharmacy Cooling Mist Sunblock SPF 45

CVS/pharmacy Oil Absorbing Sheets

CVS/pharmacy Essential Glow Daily Moisturizer

CVS/pharmacy Aloe Cool & Fresh Light Moisturizing Lotion

CVS/pharmacy Lip Balm SPF 30 Sport

CVS/pharmacy Lip Balm SPF 30 Tropical Fruit

To have your chance to win one of these gift baskets, please share three things you have learned this week on Alytude - and one bit of advice you wish to give me after reading it! (You know I need it…) Deadline May 15.

South Beach - you poor thing. lol

    1. I’m a filer
    2. Salsa and guac with a little left over chicken on a wrap sounds yummy (and now I’m going to make chicken just so I’ll have leftovers)
    3. That I’m not (thankfully) the only one obsessed with SATC movie. (I’m counting the days and re-watching all 6 seasons to get prepped for it)

My advice for you is to check your smoke alarm to make sure it still works. Also you could see if you can replace it with one that has the quick silencer button.

    1. Smoke alarms aren’t always accurate. (Try cleaning it out w/ a vacuum or fan…often dust build-up will cause a smoke alarm to become extra sensitive.)

    2. Bliss can come in many forms, including a personal groomer and a blog.

    3. I am a filer living amongst pilers. No wonder there is so much conflict. Perhaps some quantum energy and these new Staples products will help my filing-challenged loved ones.

Note: My advice is to avoid the opening day of SATC movie at all costs. It might just save your life…not unlike your smoke detector.

    1. Your dogs are really cute!!
    2. That ‘the company store’ is a really awesome website.
    3. That Certain Dri is a good deodorant.

Advice: Wear lots of sunscreen when you’re in FL. The higher the SPF, the better. http://www.neutrogena.com/ProductsDetails_164.asp?lProductLineID=15 Neutrogena makes really good products in this department. The dry touch in SPF 30 or 45 should work fine for you, unless you burn really easily, in which case get the 55, 70 or even 85 (Which they do have [at walgreens anyways]), also wear a sunscreen on your lips, your lips can sunburn also. Put the sunscreen on about 30 minutes BEFORE you go outside, and continue to reapply every few hours that you’re outside. And drink lots of water too, FL is very hot. It’s been 90 degrees on a daily basis lately.

And a last piece of advice: Enjoy FL!
