Bunny love!
As this week is the first anniversary of my blog, I wanted to revisit some of the most fun finds of the time we’ve been together. And if you look back in the annals of Alytude history, once upon a time, we gave away the cutest bunny slippers *ever*.
Well, in the week of hopping bunny cuteness, how can we not bring them back?

These slippers are an adorable find from Barefoot Parties. Check out the URL at left for all sorts of special deals and adorable holiday gifts. My friend Laura read about Barefoot Parties last year on here, and now is a popular consultant for them! In fact, this month, she’s offering a chance to enter to win a beautiful “You are the Gift” bracelet when you shop through her web site. No matter what ails you on these ides of March, a bunny and whiskers on your feet can’t help but make it better!
These slippers are hotter than ever. In fact, check them out at Oscar awards ceremony!
It’s the little details we pamper ourselves with to make even the nastiest days more fun. These slippers are an awesome start - and Barefoot Parties is giving away five pairs of these adorable floppy-eared soles to our readers! To have your chance, message me with your own tips for cheering yourself up on those gloomy days + and your favorite Alytude memory! Deadline to enter is March 21st.

Awww, they are so cute!
My first tip for cheering myself up on those gloomy days is definitely listening to my favorite music and just zoning out to it. I love listening to music whether it’s on the radio, my iPod or on my computer! It truly does cheer me up and I feel great after. My second tip is just relaxing and laughing! I love watching reruns of Friends, The Simpsons and just funny shows like Just For Laughs or something that’ll make me laugh.
No matter how gloomy I feel, Friends is a show I turn to because I know it’ll brighten up my day! I guess my third and final tip is just taking a long, hot shower! It always relaxes me and a hot shower is always wonderful!
My favorite Alytude memory is when you (Aly!) shared some news with us (the readers!) It was when you announced that you were going to be a Beauty/Style/Love/Sex Editor at SheKnows!!!! I believe it’s my favorite Alytude memory because I was so incredibly happy for you and it was such exciting news!!

We all have those downer days once in awhile. Whenever I’m feeling blue, I do a few things that are guaranteed to cheer me up. I usually read “The Blue Day Book” as I draw a bubbly bath accompanied by Chopin (as I adore him). Then, feeling relaxed, I jump into the bed and pull my boyfriend with me into a full-fledged tickle-wrestling fight! It always ends in fits of giggles and with my heart pumping!
My favourite Alytude memory is when you were announced as the new do-it-all editor at SheKnows! A close second was the quite hilarious time when you accidentally burnt your panties! Teehee!!

Oh those bunnies are all sorts of cute.
And speaking of cute, I think my favorite memories on this blog have to be the puppy-licious goodness you don’t post nearly enough of
For cheering up on gloomy days, I like snuggling in with some tea and a good book or going out for a walk, provided it doesn’t feel like Antarctica. Michigan is just too darn cold right now! I’m guessing for whole yet, it’s going to be tea and books for me!

My best tip for cheering myself and others up on a gloomy day is easy: If you have a couple friends handy, get them together and play a board game. It sounds so silly, but it works! Especially if you have an interactive game like Cranium or Pictionary. You get to have fun with friends and focus on being silly instead of the doom and gloom of a bad day. Of course, if you’re at home by yourself, nothing helps dissipate the gloominess better than a hot cup of herbal tea, wrapping yourself up in your softest blanket, and reading a good book. A little escapism doesn’t hurt anyone, after all.
My fave Aly-tude moments are whenever you discuss Lily and Frankie. My fave is from sometime last year when you were showing off their new toys to save your shoes from total destruction.

On gloomy days (which are frequent here- according to my geology teacher, MI has over 300 cloudy days a year- boo!), I love to take a long shower (intensive conditioner, exfoliate, & actually do a decent job shaving) and pamper myself by putting on self-tanner (no skin cancer for me!) and will take extra time to do my hair and make-up.. all for the sake of making myself feel cute. =) Then I put on my coziest sweatshirt and yoga pants, grab some hummus and baby carrots, head for the couch, and rent a girly movie on OnDemand. My Chi-Yorkie will lay in my lap and nap, and if I’m up to it, I’ll invite my boyfriend over to sit with me and cuddle. Sounds like a good day to me. =)
My favorite Alytude moment was when you announced the puppies were born. Being a toy dog owner, it only made me want to get another companion for my little one.

I like to bake so if I need cheering up I might find myself pounding on some bread dough. The bonus is, after getting frustrations out through vigorous kneading, I get to smell the delicious fragrance of bread baking. On a cold day the oven warms my kitchen and makes my house feel cozy. And then I get to eat a slice with real butter (the only way to go).

darn! I forgot my memory. This is going to sound weird but my favorite memory (other than being told YOU ARE A WINNER) was your stripper pole contest. I didn’t enter it but I love the idea. It makes me smile because it is fun.

my favorite thing to do when i’m feeling gloomy and not so great is cuddle up with my long t-shirt and my man to a really great movie.
