Welcome to the terrible twos! Hitting, kicking, biting and hair pulling, temper tantrums, fussing and whining. These are all behaviors you can expect from your two year old. Most often these behaviors are caused by a child's inability to express or control his emotions. Tiredness, hunger, boredom, frustration and other causes that ignite grumpy behavior can frequently be avoided or modified. When your child begins a meltdown, try to determine if you can tell what underlying issue is causing the problem. We have lots of ideas to help you manage normal toddler behavior. So what's TERRIFIC about the two year olds? Your toddler is learning so much! They are funny - a two year old can talk to you and understand you. Toddlers are active - they want to go to the park, the grocery store, the libarary, the museum, the zoo, the playdate, the grandparents. They might be rebellious like a teen, but at least they want to be around you! Toddlers LOVE their mommies and daddies. Toddlers are becoming interested in potty training. The end of diapers is near. Your toddlers might be outgrowing her crib and getting ready for a toddler bed. She likes to pedal her tricyle and throw a ball and play in the sandbox. You can experience the simple joys of childhood all over again when you have a toddler your house.
